Hey fellow witches, I’m back again and guess what?!
Yes.. I did my very own Full Moon Ritual during the Buck Moon, and I’m still alive to tell the tale!
Before I left the shop for the night, I needed some supplies to perform my spell, first Erin had asked me the most important question – “What are your intentions that you want to focus on tonight?”. That got me thinking, I thought about Prosperity, wouldn’t that be nice? Health, Love, Happiness…. It was almost like a genie granting me wishes!!
I thought very carefully, as we all know the Buck Moon was an all-important moon with it being the BIGGEST full moon of the YEAR and all.
I know, you are all wondering what my “intentions” are, no doubt you’re scrolling to the end to find out, therefore I shall put you out of your suspense. I decided to set my intentions to release me from my negative thoughts and feelings – because once this has happened everything else should fall into place!... Well, that’s my thinking anyway, plus there is always other full moons.
The All-Knowing Erin kindly provided me with a spell, black spell candle, incense, and careful step by step instructions (which I have jotted down in my Book of Shadows). All excited I left the shop and began my journey home where I was to wait until the full moon made its appearance.
As it began to get dark, I began reading the instructions.
- Light a candle
- Think of my intentions and write them down on a piece of paper
- Focus on my intentions
- Carry out the spell
- Burn… Yes that’s right BURN THE PAPER!
At which point I am thinking – I may need a fire extinguisher for this one!
Why burn the intention?
Well when casting spells you need to think about how you want to set your intention in motion as there are different release methods.
Set it on FIRE – If you are sure of your intention and want it to act immediately. Fire magic acts quickly but needs appropriate respect.
Drown it in WATER – If you are patient enough to wait for you intention to create a steadily a huge tide.
Let the WINDS take it – If you need the flexibility and swiftness of this element and you are not sure how to succeed.
Bury it in the EARTH – If you know that your intention takes and you want it to be more permanent.
The Full Moon Ritual
As I prepared my intentions, I carefully placed the candle in a safe place. I created my casting circle using Witch Salt and I lit the candle. As I watched the candle burning, I began to focus on my list of intentions. When I felt that the time was right, I began to burn the list of negativity and when doing so I recited the following:
"I burn away all that I don't need,
for what I have written will be forever gone.
All the worries and stresses of the past,
I have now burned and turned to ash.
So Mote it be!"
So there you have it, I carried out my first ever full moon spell and burnt away my list of negative thoughts, and guess what??? My house is still standing!! Proving to me that positive things are happening already.
My overall experience? I must admit that I enjoyed every second of it. It was so peaceful and relaxing, watching the candle burn and the incense burning under the full moon.
I really hope you had a great night too and set your intentions for the forth coming months. I wonder what else I will be learning…?? Whatever it is, I will of course keep you posted...
